Why are Judes so expensive? Price / CostUpdated 9 months ago
The answer is largely a matter of perspective. For example, a T-shirt uses about the same amount of fabric as a Judes cloth diaper - and for an organic cotton T-shirt, our diaper price is relatively inexpensive. Other cloth diaper brands often use much less fabric, a different weave, and are not made from organic cotton (often containing a lot of plastic). However, these factors are crucial for why Judes work so well and are much thinner than other cloth diapers. And on the topic of sustainability or quality: We did not want to compromise on the quality of the materials, the design, the ethics of the manufacturers, and sustainability. Therefore, we have chosen only the best of the best. We use 12 layers of organic cotton, a special weave made for us, the best hook-and-loop fastener in the industry, have them produced by a top-notch manufacturer, the covers are double-layered and made from recycled plastic bottles, and much more. However, the high quality of Judes also leads to long-term cost savings: e.g., Judes are leak-proof and secure, meaning you less frequently need to wash your baby's clothes. Another advantage is that Judes are very easy to use in everyday life. Thus, diapering sustainably with Judes is comparatively relaxed. Compared to disposable diapers, you definitely also save costs with Judes (and not only when you reuse Judes for a second child).
